Tarot found me at a young age when I needed to believe in a brighter future. I say “found me” because mom gave Sis and me a deck when we were too young to believe in anything except Jesus and fortune-telling. I don’t remember why we asked for them. Especially since we didn’t have enough life under our belts to appreciate the wisdom staring us in the face. We were just asking for reassurance that we’d break out of Belle Reve – our childhood misery – some day. We’re free now – more or less.
It’s been a minute… days float by and by. until suddenly you have SOMETHING to show for being here – stories you’ve lived and pictures you’ve collected… your experiences, OUR experiences are all there – captured in a deck of cards.
Snapshots of the past, present and future telling us who we are and who we’re becoming. The cards never lie – whether we’re ready for the truth or not… just like looking in the mirror. When we open ourselves, set an intention, shuffle with respect – the cards help us map out our DESTINY… which isn’t a destination or our end-game…. it’s the result of experiences we commit to in the here and now. The cards have always helped me shape my destiny – empowered me to release yesterdays, and inspired me to create the best possible outcomes.
Tarot is something to be studied and felt. If you embrace the cards with respect and gratitude – you are never disappointed.
